หลวงพ่อพระใส จัดสร้างขึ้นโดย พระราชธิดาพระเจ้าไชยเชษฐาธิราช กษัตริย์แห่ง ล้านช้าง ทั้ง ๓ พระองค์ คือ พระสุก พระเสริม และพระใส, ส่วนพระสุกนั้นได้จมลงที่แม่น้ำโขงขณะอัญเชิญลงมายังกรุงเทพ บริเวณที่พระสุกจมลงชาวบ้านจึงเรียกว่า เวินพระสุก ยังปรากฏมาจนปัจจุบันนี้ ส่วนพระเสริมนั้นได้อัญเชิญลงมายังกรุงเทพฯ ปัจจุบันประดิษฐานอยู่ที่วัดปทุมวนาราม
